Video Spotlight: Bachmann on Obamacare

Will Michelle Bachmann Run for President in 2012? This information is currently not available, but there is high speculation that Bachman will run, especially if Sarah Palin decides not to. Having both of them run at the same time may simply split votes and reduce the overall outcome.

About Michelle Bachmann: Michele Marie Bachmann was born April 6, 1956. Bachmann is a member of the House of Representatives for Minnesota’s 6th congressional district as well as a potential candidate for President in 2012. She also previously served in the Minnesota State Senate. She is the third woman, and first Republican woman, to represent the state of Minnesota in Congress.

Bachmann is a supporter of the Tea Party movement (and vice versa) and is the founder of the House Tea Party Caucus.

Michelle married Marcus Bachmann in 1978. They have five children (Lucas, Harrison, Elisa, Caroline, and Sophia), and have also provided foster care for 23 other children. Bachmann and her husband also own a Christian counseling clinic in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Michelle Bachmann PROS: She has stood up against the fiscal irresponsibilities of both the Republicans and Democrats, and she has strongly advocated the defunding of Obamacare. She is also backed by the support of the Tea Party, which has recently proven to have an impact on elections, as seen in November of 2010.

Michelle Bachmann CONS: She’s mispoken a few times, which was all that was needed for the media and entertainment outlets to immediately turn her into another Sarah Palin. Michelle Bachmann is in the media’s cross-hairs as the next person to obliterate their reputation by any means possible. This could greatly effect Bachmann’s chance at winning.

He gained a national spotlight in August 2005 after Mississippi was hit by Hurricane Katrina. Barbour won re-election as Governor in 2007. Under Mississippi’s term limits, Barbour cannot run again for Governor in 2011 when his term ends.

Before being elected Governor, Barbour worked as a lawyer and lobbyist, was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate and also served as chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1993 to 1997, during which time the Republicans captured both the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives for the first time since 1954. On June 24, 2009, Barbour was elected the new chairman of the Republican Governors Association, following the resignation of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford as its leader.

Haley Barbour PROS: Haley Barbour is a great fundraiser with deep ties into traditional sources of fundraising. Barbour also carries a record of success as governor, especially in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Barbour is also one of the best campaign strategists and messaging gurus in the party.

Will Jeb Bush Run for President in 2012? This information is currently not available.

About Jeb Bush: John Ellis “Jeb” Bush (born February 11, 1953) is an American politician who served as the 43rd Governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. He is a prominent member of the Bush family: the younger brother of former President George W. Bush; the older brother of Neil Bush, Marvin Bush and Dorothy Bush Koch; and the second son of former President George H. W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush.

In 2008, Bush indicated that he was considering running in the 2010 U.S. Senate race for the seat being vacated by Mel Martinez, who announced that he would retire at the end of his term. But in January 2009, he announced that he would not run for the Senate. Instead, he supported Marco Rubio for the position.

Throughout 2009 and 2010, rumors abounded that Bush would attempt to win the Republican nomination for the 2012 presidential election; rumors that he strongly denied from the beginning. In February 2011, after renewed calls were made for him to run for President Bush was asked whether the door remained closed on a Presidential run. “Yes”, was his reply.

My Thoughts: I don’t see Jeb Bush as a real contender right now. As trivial as it may sound, his last name may be a large obstacle to overcome. Jeb Bush said that he would endorse Sarah Palin if she runs for president in 2012.

Will Herman Cain Run for President in 2012? Herman Cain recently announced that he will be implementing a presidential exploratory committee. Cain’s exploratory committee will be “testing the waters” to see if Cain has a chance at winning in 2012. Cain is known to be very fiscally responsible, and he is not going to launch a full-blown presidential run without some business analysis regarding his chances of winning.

About Herman Cain: Herman Cain (born December 13, 1945) is an American newspaper columnist, businessman, politician, and radio talk-show host from Georgia. He is best known as the former chairman and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. He is a former chairman (1995-96) and deputy chairman (1992-94) of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Herman Cain’s newspaper column is distributed by North Star Writers Group. He currently lives in the Atlanta suburbs.

In January of 2011, Herman Cain announced that he had formed an exploratory committee for a potential candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

In 2010, Cain addressed more than 40 Tea Party rallies, hit all the early presidential states, and became a YouTube sensation. In April, he teased the audience at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference about a possible 2012 run for President by saying that there may be a “dark horse candidate.” On September 24, 2010, Cain announced that he was prayerfully considering a run for President in 2012 on the Republican Party ticket. “In December, he was the surprise choice for 2012 GOP nominee in a reader poll on the conservative Web site, narrowly edging out Palin.”

Cain announced the formation of a presidential exploratory committee on January 12, 2011 on the Fox News Channel’s Your World with Neil Cavuto.

Cain supports economic stimulus, saying: “We could grow this economy faster if we had bolder, more direct stimulus policies.”

In December 2010, Jonah Goldberg of the National Review wrote of Cain: “it’s hard to imagine him amounting to more than an exciting also-ran.”

Cain hosted The Herman Cain Show on Atlanta talk radio station News Talk 750 WSB until February 2011 and serves as a commentator for Fox News Business and a syndicated columnist distributed by the North Star Writers Group. In 2009, Cain founded “Hermanator’s Intelligent Thinkers Movement,” aimed at organizing 100,000 activists in every congressional district in the United States in support of a strong national defense, the FairTax, tax cuts, energy independence, capping and cutting government spending, restructuring Social Security, and defending the U.S. Constitution.

In 2006, Herman Cain was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in both his colon and his liver. Cain underwent surgery and chemotherapy following the diagnosis, and has since reported that he is cancer free.

Herman Cain PROS: Herman Cain has strong economic leadership and knowledge. His background in business makes him a first-hand experience candidate when it comes to job creation. He has the energy to energize the conservative base, especially in regards to the black community. Cain has said himself that he believes he can beat Obama.

Herman Cain CONS: He has never held a high political office, though many might see this as a pro rather than a con.

Christie, an attorney, previously served as United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey. DeMint is ranked by The National Journal as one of the most conservative members of the Senate.

DeMint opposes spending increases of the federal government. He opposed federal bailouts for banks and other corporations. This is sure to be a hot topic during the 2012 elections, especially for those who seek to appeal to conservative voters.

Senator DeMint has been a consistent supporter of school prayer and has introduced legislation that would allow schools to display banners such as one stating “God Bless America”.

DeMint opposes abortion, including in cases of rape and incest. He approves of abortion only when the mother’s life is in danger.

DeMint favors requiring all illegal immigrants in the United States to return to their home countries and apply for legal residency. He is in favor of establishing English as the country’s official language.

Jim DeMint PROS: Jim DeMint has significant appeal among Tea Party members as well as the social conservative wing of the GOP. Home state wields significant influence in GOP primary.

Jim DeMint CONS: Jim DeMint has limited appeal beyond the conservative Republican base, and his Washington resume makes it hard to sell himself as a true “outsider.”

Will Gary Johnson Run for President in 2012? Gary Johnson will be running for President in 2012, and he is the first official Republican candidate.

About Gary Johnson: Gary Earl Johnson (born January 1, 1953) is an American businessman and candidate for the Republican nominaton for President of the United States in the 2012 election. He served as the 29th Governor of the U.S. state of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, and is well-known for his low-tax libertarian views and his regular participation in triathlons.

Founder of one of New Mexico’s largest construction companies, Johnson entered politics for the first time by running for Governor of New Mexico in 1994 on a conservative, low-tax, anti-crime platform. He beat incumbent Democratic governor Bruce King by 50% to 40%. He cut the 10% annual growth in the budget by using his gubernatorial veto on half of bills in the first six months.

He sought re-election in 1998, winning by 55% to 45%. In his second term, he concentrated on the issue of school voucher reforms,[5] as well as campaigning for marijuana decriminalization. During his tenure as governor, he adhered strictly to an anti-tax, anti-bureaucracy program, and set state and national records for his use of veto powers: more than the other 49 contemporary governors put together.[6][7] Term-limited, Johnson retired from politics at the end of his second term. He “is highly regarded in the state for his outstanding leadership during two terms as governor. He slashed the size of state government during his term and left the state with a large budget surplus.”

In 2009, he founded the Our America Initiative, a 501(c)(4) “nonprofit political advocacy committee that promotes common-sense business approaches to governing.” He announced his candidacy for the presidency on April 21, 2011.

Video Spotlight: Sarah Palin VP Speech, Sarah Palin National Tea Party Speech

Will Sarah Palin Run for President in 2012? Sarah Palin has stated that if nobody steps up to the plate, then she will run for President in 2012.

About Sarah Palin: Sarah Louise Palin (born February 11, 1964) is an American politician, author, speaker, and political news commentator who was the youngest person and the first woman elected Governor of Alaska, as well as the only elected governor to resign all government positions before the expiration of her term. Chosen by Republican Party presidential candidate John McCain in August 2008 to be his running mate in that year’s presidential election, she was the first Alaskan on the national ticket of a major party, as well as the first female vice-presidential nominee of the Republican Party.

Palin has become the most widely reported on politician since 2008. As Sarah Palin’s popularity continues to grow, so do the amount of personal attacks coming from the media, democrats, and even some in the Republican camp. Nobody can doubt that she is a successful American, but despite her obvious talents, she continues to attract criticism. The majority of the personal attacks and criticism comes unwarranted, and the opposition to her policies seem to be less important than the opposition to her clothing style, family life, voice, and personal success.

One of her most recent appearances, was her speech at the National Tea Party Convention in February of 2010.

Speculation that she would run for U.S. president in 2012 began when it appeared the 2008 McCain–Palin ticket was going to be defeated.

Before she was elected governor, she was a member of the Wasilla, Alaska City Council from 1992 to 1996, and the city’s mayor from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 until she resigned in 2004.

She served as governor from December 2006 until she resigned in July 2009. She cited a series of dismissed ethics complaints, which she called “frivolous”, and a desire not to become a lame duck governor as reasons for her resignation.

After leaving public office, Palin penned an autobiography, Going Rogue: An American Life, which quickly became a best-seller of more than two million copies. In January 2010, she began providing political commentary to the Fox News Channel under a multi-year contract. She became associated with the Tea Party movement and endorsed and campaigned for a number of successful candidates in the 2010 mid-term elections. She hosted her own documentary – reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, which aired between November 2010 and January 2011 on TLC, and authored a second book, America by Heart, which was released in November 2010.

Sarah Palin PROS: Sarah Palin is the most popular conservative republican, Tea Party backed candidate in America right now. Not all of her popularity is positive, but popularity, nonetheless. This popularity has provided her an overwhelming amount of media coverage, book opportunities, TV shows, interviews, speaking opportunities, etc. She definitely has the largest platform for 2012 presidential hopefuls. She also rings home with those who are looking to support a female presidential candidate… one who is extremely conservative and stands highly on family values.

Sarah Palin CONS: The media has done a good job at discrediting her, even going as far as publishing and promoting stories that turned out to be 100% false. It doesn’t matter what the truth is in this case, it only matters what people believe. Because of the media’s successful attack plan, many people think Sarah Palin is dumb, stupid, unqualified, racist, or all of the above. Despite some of her experience gaps, I think the public’s perception of Palin is her biggest weakness.

Mayor of Peekskill
George Pataki first won elective office in November 1981. He was elected Mayor of the City of Peekskill, which is located in the Northwestern part of Westchester County. Pataki defeated the Democratic incumbent Fred Bianco Jr., winning 70% of the vote. In November 1983, Pataki was re-elected Mayor, winning 74% of the vote.

New York State Assembly
In November 1984, George Pataki was elected to the New York State Assembly, (91st district), by defeating the one-term Democratic incumbent, William J. Ryan, winning 53% of the vote. In November 1986, Pataki defeated Ryan in a rematch, capturing 63% of the vote. Pataki won a third term in November 1988, winning 74% of the vote against Democratic candidate Mark Zinna. Pataki won a fourth and final term in November 1990, winning over 90% of the vote, as he only faced a minor party candidate.

New York State Senate

However, in 1992, Assembly Democrats substantially redrew the district boundaries, placing the newly renamed 90th Assembly district entirely within Westchester County. Instead of running in the newly redrawn district, Pataki decided to challenge seven-term incumbent Republican State Senator Mary Goodhue in the Republican primary by criticizing her for taking her grandchildren to Disney World and missing a vote in Albany. Pataki won the primary by a 52% to 48% margin. However, Goodhue was still going to appear on the November ballot on a minor party line. In November 1992, George Pataki won election to the New York State Senate in a 4-way race. Pataki served one term before running for Governor.

Paul has run for President of the United States twice, first in 1988 as the nominee of the Libertarian Party and again in 2008 as a candidate for the Republican nomination.

Ron Paul founded the advocacy group Campaign for Liberty and his ideas have been expressed in numerous published articles and books, including End The Fed (2009), The Revolution: A Manifesto (2008), Pillars of Prosperity (2008), A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship (2007), and The Case for Gold (1982). According to a 1998 study published in the American Journal of Political Science, Paul had the most conservative voting record of any member of Congress since 1937. His son Rand Paul was sworn in as a Senator for Kentucky in 2011, making the elder Paul the first Representative in history to serve alongside a son or daughter in the Senate

Ron Paul PROS: Sticks to and stands by his ideologies and votes consistently by his interpretation of the Constitution.

Ron Paul CONS: Has dangerous foreign policy and national security ideas. See the Constitution as a brick wall instead of a framework. Previously published a racist magazine.

On March 21, 2011, he announced he was launching a 2012 presidential exploratory committee.

Tim Pawlenty PROS: Coming soon

Tim Pawlenty CONS: Coming soon

My Thoughts: If I had to choose a candidate today that would be considered a “Washington insider,” it would have to be Tim Pawlenty. I believe he has the strength, courage, spirit, and experience to lead our nation in this time of devastating need. I’m ready for a strong president, not just a strong speaker. I’m ready for someone who will do what is best for our country regardless of special interest groups. I’m ready for someone with a real plan to create jobs. I’m ready for someone to encourage, lead, and stand behind our nation. I believe Palwenty is that leader in the real of “Washington insider” candidates.

Will Mike Pence Run for President in 2012? This information is currently not available.

About Mike Pence: Mike Pence began his career in radio broadcasting in 1992. Two years later Network Indiana syndicated his show, “The Mike Pence Show,” throughout the state of Indiana. Pence also hosted a Sunday morning political television show in Indianapolis from 1995-1999.

Pence was first elected to Congress in the year 2000 and was most recently elected to a fifth term in November of 2008. He was also elected unanimously by House Republicans to serve as House Republican Conference Chairman in November 2008.

On several occasions, Congressman Pence has described himself as “a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order.”

Mike Pence was first mentioned as a possible candidate for President in 2008, but he decided to not run. In June of 2009, an MSNBC political blog listed him as one of many possible Republican candidates for President in 2012. During that same month, the Des Moines Register reported that Pence had planned to visit the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area in late July. Iowa has the first caucus in early 2012, before the primaries in other states. He also scheduled a visit to New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary, in 2010.

As of now, Pence has no plans to run for President and often lends off-hand vocal support for fellow Hoosier and friend Governor Mitch Daniels. In September 2010, Pence was the top choice for President in a straw poll conducted by the Value Voters Summit.

Mike Pence PROS: Well liked among social conservative crowd. Solid communicator, especially on TV and radio. A solid element in the GOP establishment yet has a record of standing up to his party on spending issues.

Mike Pence CONS: Not well known outside of D.C. and Indiana and social conservative circles. Questions regarding his ability to raise money have been brought up as well. Historically speaking, House members have struggled to run as presidential candidates.

Will Rick Perry Run for President in 2012? On August 13, 2011, Rick Perry announced that he would be running for President in 2012. Perry stated, “It’s time to get America working again.”

About Rick Perry: James Richard “Rick” Perry (born March 4, 1950) is the 47th and current Governor of Texas. A Republican, Perry was elected Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1998 and assumed the governorship in December 2000 when then-governor George W. Bush resigned to become President of the United States. Perry was elected to full gubernatorial terms in 2002, 2006 and 2010. With a tenure in office to date of 10 years, 253 days, Perry is the longest continuously serving current U.S. governor, and the second longest serving current U.S. governor after Terry Branstad of Iowa.

Perry served as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2008 (succeeding Sonny Perdue of Georgia) and again in 2011. Perry is the longest-serving governor in Texas state history. As a result, he is the only governor in modern Texas history to have appointed at least one person to every eligible state office, board, or commission position (as well as to several elected offices to which the governor can appoint someone to fill an unexpired term, such as six of the nine current members of the Texas Supreme Court).

Perry won the Texas 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary election, defeating U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and former Wharton County Republican Party Chairwoman and businesswoman Debra Medina. In the 2010 Texas gubernatorial election, Perry won a third term by defeating former Houston mayor Bill White and Kathie Glass.

On August 13, 2011, Perry announced in South Carolina that he was running for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2012 presidential election.

Will Condoleezza Rice Run for President in 2012? This information is currently not available.

About Condoleezza Rice: Condoleezza Rice (born November 14, 1954) is an American political scientist and diplomat. She served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, and was the second person to hold that office in the administration of President George W. Bush. Rice was the first African-American woman secretary of state, as well as the second African American (after Colin Powell), and the second woman (after Madeleine Albright). Rice was President Bush’s National Security Advisor during his first term, making her the first woman and first African American to serve in that position. Before joining the Bush administration, she was a professor of political science at Stanford University where she served as Provost from 1993 to 1999.

Rice also served on the National Security Council as the Soviet and East European Affairs Advisor to President George H.W. Bush during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and German reunification.

Following her confirmation as Secretary of State, Rice pioneered a policy of Transformational Diplomacy, with a focus on democracy in the greater Middle East. Her emphasis on supporting democratically elected governments faced challenges as the Islamist militant Hamas captured a popular majority in Palestinian elections, and influential countries including Saudi Arabia and Egypt maintained authoritarian systems with U.S. support. While Secretary of State, she chaired the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s board of directors.

In March 2009, Rice returned to Stanford University as a political science professor and the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution. In September 2010, Rice became a faculty member of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a director of its Global Center for Business and the Economy.

About Buddy Roemer: Governor Roemer served four terms in the United States Congress from 1981 – 1988 as a conservative Democrat who often broke ranks with his party to vote with President Reagan, and was Louisiana Governor from 1988-1992 as both a Democrat and Republican. During his tenure in the Governor’s office, unemployment in the state dropped by approximately half, the state budget was balanced all years despite inheriting a huge deficit, teacher pay was linked to performance, education accountability standards were enacted, government unions were challenged, and sweeping campaign finance reform legislation was passed. Since leaving public office, Governor Roemer has been involved in a number of business ventures.

Most recently, Buddy Roemer served as the founder, CEO, and President of Business First Bank, a small business community bank with approximately $650 million in assets that took no bailout money from the federal government. Video Spotlight: Mitt Romney Launches Exploratory Committee

Will Mitt Romney Run for President in 2012? On April 11, 2011, Mitt Romney announced that he had formed a presidential exploratory committe.

About Mitt Romney: Willard Mitt Romney (born March 12, 1947) is an American businessman and Republican political figure who was the 70th Governor of Massachusetts (2003 to 2007). He ran for President of the United States in the 2008 election, and has announced his candidacy in the 2012 presidential election.

Romney is the son of George W. Romney (the former Governor of Michigan) and Lenore Romney. He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and served as a Mormon missionary in France. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University, then earned a joint Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. Romney entered the management consulting business which led to a position at Bain & Company, eventually serving as its CEO to lead it out of crisis. He was also co-founder and head of the spin-off company Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm which became highly profitable and one of the largest such firms in the nation. He ran as the Republican candidate in the 1994 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts but lost to incumbent Edward M. Kennedy. Romney organized and steered the 2002 Winter Olympics as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, and helped turn the troubled games into a financial success.

Romney won the election for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002, but did not seek reelection in 2006. During his term, he presided over a series of spending cuts and increases in fees while the state’s finances improved. He signed into law the landmark Massachusetts health care reform legislation, which provided near-universal health insurance access via subsidies and state-level mandates. During the course of his political career, his positions or rhetorical emphasis shifted more towards American conservatism in several areas, though his stances on many other issues have been consistent; this process continued with Romney becoming a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election. In that contest, he won several caucuses and primaries but ultimately lost to John McCain. Since then he has published a book, No Apology: The Case for American Greatness, and also given speeches and raised campaign funds on behalf of fellow Republicans.

On April 11, 2011, Romney announced that he had started an exploratory committee for president; political observers and public opinion polls place him as a front-runner for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

Mitt Romney PROS: Mitt Romney’s strengths lie in his 30+ years spent as a successful businessman. After graduating from Harvard Law and Harvard Business, Romney was sought after by some very successful companies where he would work in high level executive positions, and then go on to own his own businesses.

Mitt Romney CONS: He signed into law the landmark Massachusetts health care reform legislation, which provided near-universal health insurance access via subsidies and state-level mandates. Many conservatives and Republicans have compared his healthcare law to that of Obama’s, and it has left a bad taste in the mouths of some who may have once supported Romney. Being that Obamacare was one of the biggest issues that conservatives stood against over the last 2 years, this could leave a dark spot on Romney’s record, and leave some seeing him as another RINO.

About Marco Rubio: Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Florida to parents who had exiled from Cuba. Rubio is the author of the book 100 Innovative Ideas for Florida’s Future. This book was compiled from Rubio’s travel campaign throughout Florida in which he gathered ideas from citizens in regards to several issues. Rubio effectively called this the “Idearaiser”. Many of the issues that he fought for in his first year as speaker came from this book of ideas. During 2007, Marco Rubio championed a major overhaul of the Florida tax system. He argued it would reduce property taxes and decrease the size of government.

On May 5, 2009, Marco Rubio announced on his website that he was planning to run for the United States Senate in 2010 for the Republican seat that was then being held by Sen. Mel Martinez, who had resigned and been replaced by George LeMieux. Prior to the announcement, he had been meeting with fundraisers and supporters throughout the state of Florida. Initially trailing by double-digits against the incumbent Governor of his own party, Charlie Crist, Rubio eventually surpassed Crist in polling for the Republican nomination.

On April 28, 2010, Crist announced that he would continue his race as an independent candidate, effectively releasing the Republican nomination to Marco Rubio. Several of Crist’s top fundraisers, as well as those serving in Republican leadership, refused to support Crist after Rubio won the Republican nomination for Senate.

On November 2, 2010, Marco Rubio won the senatorial election with 48.9% of the vote to Crist’s 29.7% and Democrat Kendrick Meek’s 20.1%

Marco Rubio PROS: A breath of fresh air with no Washington insider background. Excellent personal story about success and the American dream.

Marco Rubio CONS: Still young. Less experience than most of the other potential presidential candidates.

Will Donald Trump Run for President in 2012? Donald Trump has not officially said that he is running for President in 2012, but he did say he was greatly considering it, and that he would make an official announcement in June or July of 2011.

About Donald Trump: Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American business magnate, socialite, author and television personality. He is the Chairman and CEO of the Trump Organization, a US-based real-estate developer. Trump is also the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts, which operates numerous casinos and hotels across the world. Trump’s extravagant lifestyle and outspoken manner have made him a celebrity for years, a status amplified by the success of his NBC reality show, The Apprentice (where he serves as host and executive producer). Donald Trump is considered a possible candidate for President of the United States in 2012.

He has very strong, knowledgeable ideas on America and our relationship with the China, OPEC, and so much more. Donald Trump is seriously considering a run for the White House in 2012, but will not officially announce his intentions until this summer. June is the official month in which he said he will make the official announcement. Some think that his appearance at CPAC has tipped his hand.

Donald Trump PROS: Strong and knowledgeable on foreign policy, especially in regards to America’s relationship with China. Trump wants to abolish OPEC, which is the group that controls oil prices. Considered one of the most experienced potential candidates in regards to the economy and finances as well.

Donald Trump CONS: Possibility that he will run supporting some liberal-leaning issues on guns and abortion. This will be updated as new information arrives.

Video Spotlight: Allen West in Iraq

Will Allen West Run for President in 2012? This information is currently not available.

About Allen West: Allen West is a 39 year old combat veteran, who served 21 years in the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is one of the new faces of the conservative party, as well as the Tea Party. When speaking in regards of the Tea Party, West often lays to rest the accusations that the Tea Party are simply racists.

West spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference on February 20, 2010 and was endorsed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. As one of 32 African-American Republican candidates for Congress in 2010, West said he supported the Tea Party movement and dismissed the notion of alleged “racism” as a creation of liberal critics and the news media.

West ran in the November 2, 2010, election and defeated incumbent Ron Klein by almost 9% to win the congressional seat for District 22. West, with newly elected Tim Scott, will be one of the two first African-American Republicans to serve in Congress since J.C. Watts retired in 2003.

West raised $5.4 million for his campaign, while his incumbent opponent raised only $2.5 million. West stated: “…over 97 percent of our donations have come from individual contributions.”

Allen West PROS: Allen West is one of the leading conservatives in America today, and may are hopeful that he will run for President in 2012. On top of that, he is a black conservative, which is in itself, very unique. He retired as an Army Lieutenant Colonel with combat experience, and has a long record of military service. In this day in age, that is always a plus. He is also supported by the Tea Party. Being a black conservative, he may be able to influence a lot of black conservatives to step into the spotlight, and create some energy behind the limited political base that exists in this regard.

Allen West CONS: West had some small military charges which he was reprimanded for. He speaks openly and honestly about these, but I’m more than positive that these will be brought up. He is also fairly new to politics, so his voting record doesn’t have much to show for.
