A lot of people think they have the best wife in the world. I hate to break it to all of you husbands out there, but that’s just not possible. There can only be one best… and it’s mine
My wife has had a lot to deal with over the last 6 months since I’ve joined the United States Marine Corps. Just my first week away for training our house sold, and she had to take care of that entire ordeal all by herself. Her willingness to drive more hours in a car to see me than the actual time spent seeing me makes me very grateful.
So far she has driven to see me graduate Boot Camp (10 hour round trip), graduate Marine Combat Training (19 hour round trip just to see me for 6 hours), and most recently she made a 22 hour round trip to spend a weekend with me. That’s just in the last 4 months. To top it off, she made all of these trips pregnant. Thank you, babe.
I know it was a hard decision for her to agree and support the decision to join the Marine Corps, but she has been a bigger support than I could have even imagined. Her support is what gets me through the days that I don’t feel like training, or the days that I’m training in the snow on the verge of frost bite and can’t think about anything except quitting. Knowing that she is “on my side” gives me that extra boost of motivation.
I love you, wife. You are THE best wife in the world.
